Bath Bombs + Wine = You Time

There’s almost nothing more tranquil and revitalizing than a little tub time, especially after balancing the hustle of a robust work week and surviving all those tedious social engagements. We absolutely adore working up a good lather in a meadow of sudsy bubbles, accompanied by a bottle of Ménage à Trois Gold for a few in-between-scrub sips.

Recently, we’ve fallen in love with a lavish bath bomb soak, complete with the stunning aesthetics of swirling pastels and neon. Let your mood choose the color! Oh, did we mention that we also found a way to add wine to a bath bomb? We did, and we’re so pleased.

Bath bombs can get a little pricey and you can rarely find any made with wine, so we wanted to share this magical DIY wine bath bomb project with you. Now you’ve got a fun project that will ultimately result in sheer relaxation, and of course, help you keep those extra funds for wine and other luxuries.

What’s needed to make the magic happen:
Dry Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
½ cup citric acid
½ cup Epsom salt
½ cup cornstarch
2 ½ tablespoons almond oil or melted coconut oil
Desired coloring pigment (optional)

Wet Ingredients:
1 tablespoon wine
¾ tablespoon water
12-15 drops essential oil
Bath bomb molds (purchase online or in craft stores)

Mix dry ingredients together in medium bowl. If you choose to make them colorful, and who wouldn’t, make sure to add as much of the pigment as you desire at this step. Whisk to combine.

Mix together the wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry. (Slow is very important; otherwise you will activate the citric acid which is used to create the fizzing affect.) Once you’ve successfully combined them, you should have a product that looks like wet sand.

Fill each half of the mold, packing the mixture in slightly until it's overflowing. Press the halves together firmly. Let the filled mold sit for one minute. Lightly tap the mold and gently pull it apart to remove the bath bomb.

Let the bath bombs dry for 24 hours before enjoying in the tub. If you want to share how it turned out, make sure to let us see the results on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2jUJ7EQ.
