Wine Time Capsule with Ménage à Trois Wines

In the spirit of celebrating the genuineness of that genuine bond between tight friends, and a brand spanking new year ahead, we’ve got a simple idea that can turn a regular evening of sipping into something inspired. We say, don’t just drink that bottle of Silk, but instead, turn it into a wine time capsule. The guidelines can be as loose as you want, but here’s how our crew is doing it:

We chose a white wine bottle for the picture above, but a Ménage à Trois Midnight or Silk provides a nice dark bottle to keep those secret scrawls safe.

Next, we’ve got a myriad of lush, textured paper — and some trusty notebook pages for the minimalists in the group.
Likewise, we brought out all the colored markers, pencils, fancy pens, and even crayons.

We also grabbed a few pairs of fancy scissors to cut the paper into fun shapes, but that’s entirely optional. We just really like getting carried away with our wine crafting.

Once the first bottle is empty, we’ll turn it upside down, give it a good shake to get those last drops out, and finally, aim a hair dryer inside for a few minutes. (Make sure you’ve kept at least one cork!)

As we finish the second (or third) bottle, we’ll take time to write down a few things. We’ve decided to write a little or big promise to ourselves for the coming year.

After everyone is happy with their paper promises, we’ll put them in the dry bottle, cork it, and seal it using the original cork and duct tape. Then, we’ll pick our most sentimental friend to toss it in the closet for exactly one year.

Next year, we’ll meet up to unearth the wine time capsule and see where we all ended up. A lot can happen in a year.
