Fan Pick of the Week: @legrandlife

We really loved our fan's digital artwork and had to learn more about her wine and art process.

MAT: What is your favorite Ménage à Trois wine and why?
Cindy L.: My favorite Ménage à Trois wine is Silk. It is just so smooth, and doesn't feel heavy even as the weather is getting warmer where I live.

MAT: How was this photo created?
Cindy L.: [Each Ménage à Trois piece] was created in Adobe Photoshop CC. Each one began with the same image of the three wine bottles captured with my DSLR. In Photoshop, I blended the wine bottle image with various other background images and added some finishing details (paint strokes, washes of color, text, etc.)

MAT: How long have you been creating digital art?
Cindy L.:  I have been creating digital art for several years, but just got serious about it about 1 1/2 years ago.

MAT: Do you have any tips for a beginner trying to get into digital art?
Cindy L.: There are many great resources for getting started in digital art, but my favorite is the Sebastian Micheal's Photoshop Artistry course: http://photoshopgrunge.com.

Ménage a Mojito: A Sweet-Talking Wine Spritzer That's Sugar-Free.
Sauvignon Blanc bottle

Sauvignon Blanc

"Ours will be a fun and flirtatious start."

Ménage a Mojito: A Sweet-Talking Wine Spritzer That's Sugar-Free.

Spring is fast approaching, and those of us who are partial to winter, since it’s our excuse to cozy up and hibernate, are equally roused by the coming warmth of spring. Like the blossoming flowers and birds of song, we feel free to reveal our true colors, and share our desire to make some noise and mingle again.

The renewed sense of bliss that spring brings on is as exciting as it is enticing, not only because of the obvious reasons of shedding layers and showing off our beloved Boho Spring wear, but because we’ve been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for these sun filled days to arrive, now that they have, we have a surprise for you. Our first ever, splendid for spring, Mojito Wine Spritzer. It happens to be sugar-free, and under 100 calories—which pretty much means it’s guilt-free.

When our Ménage à Trois Sauvignon Blanc, with its vivid flavors that awaken your senses, gets together with the refreshing mint magic of the Mojito, not only do sparkling sparks fly, but all at once, you know, spring has arrived.

Mojito Wine Spritzer

  • Gently muddle the mint leaves with stevia and lime juice.

How to Host a Midnight Easter Egg Hunt

Bring back the magic of Easter with an adults-only egg hunt this weekend. When the clock strikes midnight, head outside for a bit of grown-up fun — think glow-in-the-dark eggs, dark chocolate, along with other no-kids-allowed treats, and of course our Ménage à Trois Midnight Red Wine Blend — enough to share with all mischief-making friends.

Pre-Hunt Toast
Kick off the night with a toast (or three). Your guests might get thirsty on their egg hunt, so keep several bottles of your favorite Ménage à Trois wine on hand.

Glow-in-the-Dark Eggs
Pick up plastic eggs that illuminate at night. Glow-in-the-dark stickers also work — simply place them on regular plastic eggs.

Goodies for Grown-Ups
Fill your plastic eggs with adults-only treats. Try dark chocolates, booze-flavored jelly beans, money, costume jewelry or whatever other playful prize you can think of.

Light Up the Night
Light the way (and help everyone find their eggs) by passing out flashlights and glow sticks to your guests.

Spring Cleaning: Closet Organizer Edition

Spring is almost here. Tackle this to-do list now, and come spring, you'll be feeling as fresh and free as a daisy. De-mustify the carpets, dust the place thoroughly (including the top of ceiling fan blades), clean the windows and so on. And how about tackling that dreaded closet — you know the one; it's overflowing with cold weather clothes and last season’s rejects. Dive in— it's easier than you think. Get your garments in order with these three helpful tips for a perfectly organized wardrobe.

Out With the Old
If you haven’t worn something within the last year, it’s time to part ways. As you sort through your things, make three piles: one to keep (items you wear often), one to store (special occasion pieces or heirlooms), and one to donate.

Unclutter for Spring
Can’t find your favorite sweater? Searching for that sandal’s other half? Start getting organized with the help of boxes, bins, space-saving hangers, shoe racks or even a new shelving unit.

Create a Capsule Wardrobe
Now that you’ve organized and cleared up some space, focus on building a wearable wardrobe of core pieces to carry you through the season. Stick with about 30-40 pieces per three months that you can mix and match at a moment’s notice.

You most likely know this by now; immediately after spring cleaning, soak in an indulgent bubble bath while sipping on your second glass of your fave Ménage à Trois wine.

“It doesn’t matter if your glass is half-full or half-empty, as long as you have the rest of the bottle.”

We really loved this yogi’s photo and had to learn more about her wine and yoga practice.

MAT: What is your favorite Ménage à Trois wine and why?
Kay R.: I've always been a fan of your Cabernet Sauvignon, but now with the new Midnight that came out, that's my new favorite. I always pair it with this Rose & Lavender dark chocolate from ChoNanga. It brings out all the subtle hints of floral and the berry flavors from the wine.

MAT: Where was this photo taken?
Kay R.: This picture was taken at my house against what my boyfriend calls my "Yoga Wall."

MAT: How long have you been practicing yoga?
Kay R.: I've been practicing yoga for a little over 2.5 years.

MAT: Why did you start practicing yoga?
Kay R.:  I'm all self-taught. I started yoga because I was sitting on my floor (I always sit on the floor), and I was reaching for the remote control to fast forward through the commercials and couldn't reach the remote by my feet. In desperation, I used my foot to bring the control to me and realized I couldn't touch my toes. That HAD to change! I looked up yoga stretches and started doing yoga nightly as I relaxed, drank my wine and watched TV. I still do that now, but just more yoga and less wine.

WHITE
Flavor Profile: Our White brings together citrus and tropical fruit flavors with crisp acidity for a boldly refreshing blend.
Vineyard Notes: Ménage à Trois White marries Chardonnay, Muscat and Chenin Blanc grapes that are gently crushed and cold-fermented in small stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness.
Pair It With: Shellfish, crab cakes or chicken.

PROSECCO
Flavor Profile: Delicate bubbles release refreshing citrus and bright green apple flavors that lead to a crisp, clean finish.
Vineyard Notes: Made in Italy with 100% Glera grapes using the traditional Charmat method, our sparkling wine is fresh, fruity, and best enjoyed young.

Vineyard Notes: This sensual blend of grapes comes from three signature California wine regions: Monterey, Santa Barbara, and Mendocino.
Pair It With: Chicken, legumes, creamy sauces, and risotto.

PINOT GRIGIO
Flavor Profile: This single-grape wine brings forth bright fruit flavors and an exuberant acidity.
Vineyard Notes: To preserve the fresh, zesty fruit flavors and zippy aromas, winemakers cold-ferment the wine in stainless steel tanks.
Pair It With: A wine for all seasons and reasons!

SAUVIGNON BLANC
Flavor Profile: Vibrant tropical fruit aromas lead to bursts of lemon, lime, and tangerine on the palate.
Vineyard Notes: Coastal grapes bring vivacious citrus flavors and acidity to the blend, while Delta grapes contribute notes of tropical fruit and white peaches.
Pair It With: Light seafood such as fish and shellfish, green veggies, and salads.
