Artist Spotlight: Vintage Edison

At Ménage à Trois, we revel in finding unique ways of bottling the elements of wine into fun and flirtatious offerings for our fans to enjoy! So we’re excited to launch our Artist Spotlight series by introducing an artist who has blended his talents into an inspired collection all his own.

When a bartender with a familial knack for electrical work finds inspiration it can cause a certain light bulb to go off. Jim Ligon had such a revelation and soon began combining his two passions into a new creative venture – handcrafting beautiful, vintage-inspired light fixtures using recycled glass wine and liquor bottles.

Originally from New Orleans, Ligon’s electrical skillset came as a bit of family tradition. A family electrical repair business owned by his grandfather was the place where Ligon along with his father, uncles, and cousins all learned the trade. In addition to the valuable work experience, his grandfather also passed along a careful attention to detail that carries through to each and every fixture and custom job Jim produces.

In the five years since its inception, Vintage Edison has expand as new clients get word from satisfied former clients. From local small businesses to private homes, much of his creations are the byproduct of custom installation opportunities. This has not only meant more jobs, but an increased chance to create, fabricate and push his art in new directions.

“Going into a space, meeting the client, establishing the conversation, and merging visions is like a little puzzle to solve,” Ligon says.

Inspired by Jim's passion and creativity, we asked him to design a unique piece featuring Ménage à Trois wine. When the piece was finished, we were thrilled to see how he brought our bottles to life.

For more information about Jim and Vintage Edison, follow him on Facebook.

Ménage à Trois Named Official Wine Sponsor of the 2015 San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MÉNAGE À TROIS WINE NAMED OFFICIAL WINE SPONSOR OF THE 2015 SAN FRANCISCO LGBT PRIDE CELEBRATION AND PARADE

St. Helena, CA June 10, 2015 – Ménage à Trois, one of the top selling super premium wine brands in America, announced today that it has been named the official wine sponsor of the 2015 San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade, with the theme – “Equality without Exception”. The annual two-day celebration features a massive colorful parade through downtown San Francisco, 2 days of festivities with 23 community entertainment stages and over 300 exhibitors. This year’s Market Street parade begins on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. from Beale to 8th street. The celebration and festival takes place at Civic Center Plaza on Saturday, June 27 from noon – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 28 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Approximately 1.2 Million people are expected to attend the weekend’s events.

The Ménage à Trois “Love the One You’re With” campaign will be prominent throughout the parade and the wine will be available at the wine and beer garden at San Francisco’s Civic Center Park. “We are excited to be a part of this legendary event. As a company that has been in the Bay area for over 65 years – and brand that was built by taking a risk – we think this is the perfect pairing," noted Mark Dunlea, Ménage à Trois’ Marketing Director. “We are looking forward to participating in the parade and celebrating equality without exception in the city that helped establish it.”

George Ridgely, Jr., Executive Director of SF Pride, added, “As we celebrate and commemorate our 45th anniversary, San Francisco Pride is thrilled to also mark the beginning of what we hope will be a long and meaningful partnership with Ménage à Trois wines.”

The Ménage à Trois portfolio includes the original Red blend, White, and Rose; Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc – all line priced at $9.99 - in addition to Midnight Red Blend ($12.99), Prosecco ($14.99) and 3 expressions of Vodka ($25.99).
