WINE ATTITUDE

At Ménage à Trois, moderation is simply not in our vocabulary; in fact, our mantra has always been “More, more, more!” Life is simply too short not to indulge in every delicious opportunity that comes your way—especially when Merlot is involved. We wanted to experience a wine so infinitely smooth, dark and plush it would redefine what Merlot could be. Introducing Ménage à Trois Lavish.

VINEYARDS & WINEMAKING

Our winemakers wanted to craft a wine that possessed everything they loved about Merlot, only more: more rich fruit flavors, more cocoa accents, a more voluptuous mouthfeel. They selected grapes from premier vineyards in California’s Monterey, Lodi-Delta and North Coast appellations, known for producing grapes with exceptionally rich flavors and aromas. Though primarily Merlot, they added a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot to the blend for even more depth and structure. Finally, they fermented the wine on French and American oak to round out the flavors and mouthfeel.

Grilled Peaches and Prosciutto Ingredients:
- 5 medium peaches, ripe but firm, halved, pits removed
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- 6-8 thin slices of quality prosciutto
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
 
Make Grilled Peaches and Prosciutto Directions:
1. Heat grill to medium-high.
2. Brush grill and peaches with oil. Season peaches to taste with salt and pepper. Grill, turning occasionally until charred and softened, 4-6 minutes. Transfer to a platter.
3. Fold prosciutto slices on top of peaches.
4. Sprinkle with basil, grind pepper over top, and lightly drizzle with balsamic oil.
5. Serve with Ménage à Trois Gold.

This lavish red wine enchants with kisses of exotic dark chocolate, black cherry, and a hint of vanilla spice — an irresistibly indulgent combination that pairs all too well with this artistic project.

Gemstone Soap
Makes 2 soaps

What You’ll Need:
- 1/2 lb. each of vegetable-based clear and opaque white soap bases
- Red, yellow, green, and blue food coloring
- 10 small reusable mixing cups
- 2 soap molds
- Toothpicks
- Microwavable measuring cup
- Paring knife
- Cutting board
- Scissors
- Fragrance oil (optional)

How to Make:
1. Start by cutting each of your soap bases in half. Set aside half of each of the clear and opaque halves for your second gemstone soap.
2. Cut both halves in half again. One quarter piece of the clear and opaque soap will be used to mix colors. The other quarters will be reserved for the final mold.
3. Cut the quarter piece of the clear soap into small chunks and place into a microwavable measuring cup. Microwave in short bursts (10- to 15-second bursts with stirring in between) until completely melted. Be careful: You can burn the soap and render it unusable.
4. If you want to add fragrance, this is when you add your oil. A little goes a long way. Divide the melted soap evenly into 5 small mixing cups.
5. Decide on your color. Example: Red and Blue = Purple. In the small mixing cups, start to add your color. (Darkest shades first. One drop of each color will be as dark as you’ll need to go. Slowly reduce the amount of food coloring after each subsequent mixing cup. Use the toothpick to extract the smallest amount of color from the bottle. Again, a little goes a long way!) Mix each color thoroughly with a toothpick. If the soap starts to set, then pop the mini cups into the microwave for 4-5 seconds and mix again.
6. Repeat with the quarter of opaque soap base.
7. Allow clear and opaque soaps to set for at least an hour. Once they’ve cooled and hardened, turn them over, use your thumbs to push the bottom, and they should pop out easily. Save the mini mixing cups — you can reuse them many times.
8. Slice the hardened color set soap into thin slices and small shards. Mix the colors randomly and drop them into the soap mold. The looser and more random, the better.
9. Melt the remaining quarter piece of clear soap and pour into the soap mold. Then melt the remaining quarter of opaque soap and pour into the soap mold.
10. Heat the entire cup in the microwave for 3 seconds. The colors melt together more naturally, but be careful not to melt the mold. Or you can leave it as it is. Allow to set for a couple of hours — put in the refrigerator for faster cooling. Once the soap has totally cooled and hardened, carefully cut the mold open with a pair of scissors.
11. Repeat with the leftover halves to make your second round of soaps.
12. Enjoy your Gemstone Soaps!

Ménage à Trois Decadence Red Berry Sorbet Ingredients: 
- 5 Cups Red Raspberries
- 1 ¼ Cup Simple Syrup
- Ménage à Trois Decadence

Ménage à Trois Decadence Red Berry Sorbet Directions:
1. Puree raspberries and 1/3 cup water in a blender.
2. Pour through a coarse sieve into a bowl – Makes about 2 cups.
3. Add simple syrup and stir.
4. Add Ménage à Trois Decadence (before refrigerating)
5. Refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.
6. Process in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions, about 25 minutes.
7. Transfer sorbet to an airtight container, and freeze until it hardens, at least 1 hour.
*Good for 3 days.

Traditionally held in honor of the Mexican Army's unlikely victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, modern-day Cinco de Mayo celebrations in the United States are more about celebrating Mexican-American culture. Falling on the fifth of May, this holiday is the perfect time to enjoy the most exquisite flavors and cuisine that Mexico has to offer. 

Claim victory for your taste buds with traditional Mexican Street Corn, a staple dish that boasts creamy flavors with a dash of chili powder and a spritz of lime. We recommend serving with our Ménage à Trois Pinot Grigio. The bright, fruit flavors and zippy aromas of our Pinot combined with the hot, juicy flavors of the corn will make this Cinco de Mayo combo one to celebrate.

Authentic Mexican Street Corn Ingredients
- 4 Medium Ears of Yellow Corn on the Cob, grilled (or steamed or boiled)
- ¼ Cup Mayonnaise
- ¼ Cup Sour Cream or Mexican Crema
-½ Cup Crumbled Feta Cheese
- ¼ Cup Chopped Cilantro
- 2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
- 1 Lime, quartered
- Salt, to taste

Authentic Mexican Street Corn Instructions
1. Grill or steam or boil 4 ears of corn. Set aside to cool off for 5 minutes.
2. Mix Mayonnaise and Sour Cream together. 
3. Using a brush or a butter knife, spread 2 tablespoons of mixture onto each ear of grilled corn. 
4. Sprinkle each ear with 2 tablespoons of Feta cheese, 1 tablespoon of cilantro and a pinch of chili powder. 
5. Top with freshly squeezed lime juice and salt if needed.

The extravagant Chardonnay melds perfectly with muddled mint for a mouthfeel that will send your taste buds galloping off to climax into a smooth, opulent, and buttery finish.

Ménage à Trois Gold Wine Mint Julep Ingredients:
Makes 2
- 8 Mint Leaves, plus mint sprigs for garnish
- 1/2 Ounce Simple Syrup
- 1 Part Ménage à Trois Gold
- 1 Part Ginger Ale
- Crushed ice

Ménage à Trois Gold Wine Mint Julep Directions:
1. In a chilled julep cup or fizz glass, muddle the mint leaves and Simple Syrup. 
2. Fill glasses halfway with ice, then add equal parts Ménage à Trois Gold and ginger ale. 
3. Garnish each serving with a small sprig of mint. 
4. Set a swizzle stick or bar spoon in the cup and spin between your hands to mix. 
5. Top with additional crushed ice and garnish with the mint sprigs.

Get Sun Kissed With Our Golden Star Cocktail, Mixed With Ménage à Trois Gold

Carambola, star fruit, is native to Southeast Asia but was introduced to Florida about 100 years ago. Due to Florida’s warm climate, star fruit trees have flourished in the Sunshine State. The most common star fruit, the Golden Star is commercially grown in South Florida and has a tart yet juicy taste. It’s the splendor of history and mystery in a glass. 

Our curious find focuses on the Golden Star, which you can discover in your local grocery store several times of the year. Growing up in South Florida, one could find a star fruit tree growing in their backyard, and that’s exactly how we discovered this juicy afternoon snack. It makes us reminisce about days spent outside collecting baskets full of star fruit and sharing them, as much as we didn’t want to, with our friends and neighbors.​

At Ménage à Trois, we’re celebrating this curious find with the toast of a cocktail—a Golden Star Cocktail, that is. 

Golden Star Cocktail Recipe:  ​
What you’ll need: ​
- 2-star fruits​
- 1 lime​
- 2 tablespoons simple syrup
- 3/4 cup Ménage à Trois Gold
- 2 dashes of orange bitters​
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons natural sugar, for garnish​
- Crushed ice​
- Sparkling water or soda​
 ​
How to make:​
1. Slice one star fruit and pop out any visible seeds with the tip of a knife.​
2.Place it in a blender along with the juice of a lime, Ménage à Trois Gold, simple syrup, pineapple juice, and orange bitters. Blend until smooth.​
3. Slice one star fruit for garnishes, making slits so the slices sit on the sides of the glasses.​
4. Place sugar in a shallow dish. Slide the sliced star fruit around the rim of glasses and then dip the rims in the sugar mixture.​
5. Fill glasses with ice. Pour the blended mixture over the ice, and top it off with sparkling water or soda.
