Dive into the Unknown with Ménage à Trois Silk and Our Squid Ink Pasta

The ocean, which covers around 70% of the Earth, is mostly shrouded in mystery. Every day explorers are venturing out into the great unknown of our very own oceans, in hopes of getting a slight glimpse into the abyss. They search to answer the questions: what lies beneath that dark surface? What unknown worlds exist in the deep?

That’s exactly what Ménage à Trois is discovering with this deep, dark, exotic dish. The Squid Ink Pasta evokes the secrets of the ocean and brings it all to your plate. This unique dish will wash your palate with savory flavors while satiating your desire for something exciting and unusual. Pair it with the smooth taste of Ménage à Trois Silk, a wine that caresses you with every sip, for an evening of sensual pleasure. 

Recipe Ingredients for Squid Ink Pasta: (Serves 4)
- 1 lb.(s) fresh squid ink pasta
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 clove garlic, cut in minced
- ¼ cup chopped black olives
- Coarse salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 cup Fresh Parmesan, shavings

Recipe Directions for Squid Ink Pasta: 
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. 
2. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 3 to 4 minutes. 
3. Drain pasta, reserving some of the pasta water. 
4. While pasta is cooking, heat oil over low heat in a large sauté pan. 
5. Add garlic and sauté about 2 mins, then add black olives. 
6. Sauté both together about 2 to 3 minutes. 
7. Remove from heat. 
8. Toss pasta in the sauté pan with the oil and garlic sauce. 
9. Add some of the pasta water if pan is dry. 
10. Season the pasta with salt and pepper to taste. 
11. Top with fresh parmesan shavings. 
12. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Inspired by Venetian Masquerades, where identities are hidden behind masks, adding mysterious excitement to the evening, the Ménage à Trois’ game, “Shadows of Mystery” is a Feast For The Senses. It keeps the identity of select objects hidden in the shadows, so you never know what to expect or what you’ll experience. Players use a blindfold to take away their sight, leaving them to use taste, touch, smell, and sounds to discover what objects lay in front of them.  

Can you recognize the sweet burst of flavor from a blueberry by taste alone? Or a strawberry just by its aroma? 
Does wine have its own distinctive splash as it cascades from the bottle to the glass? 

It is up to the challenger to pick the items for each player to attempt to reveal. Allow your other senses to be heightened by the intoxicating effects of daring to enter the unknown.

We’re in the thick of winter, where our surroundings are glittering with frost and snow. So, to emulate the beautiful January snow that has freshly fallen, we’re dipping our wine glasses in glitter. 

What better way than to spend a cold evening inside creating these radiant DIY wine glasses and staying warm with good company and Ménage à Trois Decadence. Stylish and chic, these glasses add a sparkle to any event you’re hosting during this frosted season.

Supplies:
- Wine Glasses of your choice
- Mod Podge
- Glitter, Color of your choice
- Brush
- Painters Tape

How to Make:
1. Place newspaper on your work station. Therefore, you can use the glitter that doesn't stick the first time.
2. Wrap tape evenly around glass creating your own unique design. 
3. Brush a thin layer of mod podge over the area you plan to glitter.
4. Sprinkle glitter over mod podge area, cover well.
5. Wait at least one hour before next step. The longer the better.
6. Brush another thin layer of mod podge on the glass and apply another coat of glitter. Let dry. Do this until you are satisfied with the look.
7. Apply one last layer of mod podge without adding glitter. This will be a sealant agent. Let dry. Remove painters tape carefully. Enjoy your beautiful glitter glasses!

YOUR EXPLORATION OF SMOKED GARNISHING STARTS HERE: 

Rosemary Sprig or Thyme Sprig 
Rosemary’s earthy tones compliment the full-bodied flavor and oak notes of a Chardonnay. While thyme works wonders with sweeter, fruitier wines. 
How to Do It: Ignite the herb, blow it out and dunk it into your drink. If the herb is too green and fresh, it might take extra effort to catch on fire.

Orange Peel 
Lavish your bold wine cocktail with charred-fruit aroma and delicious, smoky, burnt orange oils. Note: These oils happen to be flammable, please be mindful when trying this.
How to Do It: Cut a small-sized piece of zest from an orange, light a match and express the peel’s oils over the match and into the drink. It is best to discard the expressed rind rather than putting into the cocktail.

Cinnamon Sticks 
Dropped into a wine cocktail or sangria, a flamed cinnamon stick creates a heavenly, homemade pie bouquet and a sensual cinnamon flavor.
How to Do It:  Light the cinnamon stick on fire, then drop it into a drink to extinguish the flame.

Cedar or Sandalwood 
Infuse any wine cocktail with a warm, barbeque flavor and a delicate wooded fragrance by smoking cedar or sandalwood chips and extinguish them with a glass.
How to Do It: Create a small pile of wood chips on a fire-proof surface, then light the pile on fire. Smother the burning pile with a wine glass and allow the glass to fill with smoke as you prepare your wine cocktail. When the wine cocktail is ready, lift the wine glass and pour the drink into it.

Ménage à Trois’ Midnight Mary is ready to step into the spotlight, challenging her predecessor’s famous spicy flavor with a sweeter sensation. 

Don’t head into the New Year doing the same old thing as before. It’s time to revel in your bold side and try something new, and the Midnight Mary is a great place to start. 

Midnight Mary Ingredients:
- ¼ Cup Kosher Salt
- ¼ Cup Old Bay
- 4 oz. Carrot Juice
- 4 oz. Ménage á Trois Midnight
- 2 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 Tablespoon Celery Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
- 1 or 2 Fresh Jalapenos, sliced
- Celery Sticks, Carrots, Olives, Lime, Jalapenos, Lemon for Garnish

Midnight Mary Preparation:
1. Mix kosher salt and Old Bay
2. Wet rims of 2 glasses and dip in mixture
3. In shaker add ice, carrot juice, Ménage á Trois Midnight, lemon juice, lime juice, celery salt, ginger, and Jalapenos; season with pepper. 
4. Shake
5. Strain into glasses, 
6. Garnish with any or all (Celery Sticks, Carrots, Olives, Lime, Jalapenos, Lemon)

Ménage à Trois’ Gold and Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Beet Sauce Are All the Luck You Need This Year

Want to start the New Year off with some prosperity and good fortune? Cabbage might fulfill some New Year’s resolutions for health, but it also brings a full serving of luck to our 365-day journey around the sun. This delicious recipe of Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Beet Sauce will gratify your superstitious side in the most satisfying way. And when you add in a lusciously smooth glass of Ménage à Trois Gold, you set yourself up for a year of extravagant pleasures.

Step into 2018 in the best way possible, by going beyond just luck and into indulgent luxury. It’s OK to spoil yourself. 

RECIPE INGREDIENTS: Preparation 10 mins Cook Time 35 mins (Serves 5)  
- 1 head cabbage
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- salt and pepper

BEET SAUCE
- 1/3 cup crème fraiche
- 1/4 cup finely chopped raw beets
- 2 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
- 2 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2-3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Stand cabbage so that root end is on your cutting board. Cut ½ inch thick slices, being careful as you go through to hold the leaves together. You can leave the core in, as it will get soft as it cooks, or you can remove after cooking.
3. Brush each cabbage with a good coating of olive oil on both sides, and salt and pepper. Roast for 18 minutes, turn over, then roast for 18 more minutes.
4. Meanwhile, make the sauce. Add all ingredients to a high blender or food processor, and process for 30 seconds. Scrape down sides, process again for 30 seconds. Scrape down sides. Then process for 45 seconds, and sauce will finally start to come together and turn smooth.
5. Drizzle sauce over roasted cabbage and serve!

Merry Berry Martini Recipe Ingredients: (Makes 2 Martinis)
- 1 Cup California Red
- 1/2 Cup Cherry Juice
- 1/4 Cup Cranberry Juice
- 1/3 Cup Orange Juice, Freshly Squeezed with Pulp Removed
- Sugared Cranberries to Garnish
- Fresh Rosemary Sprigs to Garnish
 
Merry Berry Martini Recipe Directions: (Makes 2 Martinis)

1. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously.
2. Using a funnel, pour the mixture into two 3-INCH CLEAR GLASS ORNAMENTS that have been rinsed.
3. Replace the topper on each ornament.
4. Add sugared cranberries and a rosemary sprig to four martini glasses.
5. Set the ornament in the glass to serve.
6. Before drinking, slowly pour the contents of the ornament onto the cranberries.

3.Add cinnamon sticks, carbonated water, wine, cider, cinnamon, and raw honey.
4.Stir, serve with ice, and enjoy!
