Calling All Margarita Lovers: Mix Up a Ménage-à-Rita

Slightly fruitier than a traditional margarita, our fresh take on a celebratory Cinco de Mayo margarita will leave your guests blushing and asking for more. The margarita-rosé blend features a thirst-quenching combination of summery Ménage à Trois Rosé, smooth tequila, and sweet strawberries. Crisp and light with a dash of lemon juice, the Ménage-à-Rita is a surefire crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients:
• 2 strawberries, hulled, sliced
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 2 ounces Tequila
• 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
• 3/4 ounce Ménage à Trois Rosé

Directions:
Muddle strawberries and sugar in a cocktail shaker until lightly crushed. Add tequila, lemon juice, Ménage à Trois Rosé, and a single large ice cube. Cover and shake until the outside of the shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds. Pour drink with ice cube into a rocks glass (do not strain) and enjoy.

Grapes to Glory: Midnight Wine

When our boldly curious founders decided to “experiment threely” and blend together a luscious threesome of distinctively different grapes into one wine, they knew it needed a name that would live up to this innovative, provocative blend. They called it Ménage à Trois. Not just because it was a revolutionary three-grape blend, but because like its taste it deserved a name that would never blend in. Today, Ménage à Trois continues exploring and creating two-, three-, and four-grape Red Blends, White Blends, and even a Gold Chardonnay wine blend like only Ménage à Trois could.

Welcome to our new Ménage à Trois Wine series called “Grapes to Glory” – every month, we’ll be bringing you captivating “Grapes to Glory” stories about each one of our wine blends – from the inside out.

So get ready to explore your deepest, darkest desires. Savor the pleasures of the dark with mysterious Midnight, a sumptuous wine that goes beyond your basic red with flavors like bold blackberry and plush spiced plum. It’s dark, it’s daring, it’s dusky – and it’s dangerously delicious.

When it comes to crafting this expressive blend, our winemakers spare no expense. And lucky for us, they aren’t afraid of the dark. As a matter of fact, they lavish in it, embracing the deep, shadowy boldness that defines this gorgeous garnet varietal. The result is a truly uninhibited blend – something deeper, darker, and more uninhibited than ever before.

In true Ménage à Trois style, Midnight subscribes to our “the more, the merrier” mantra with a blend of not three, but four different types of grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sarah, and Petit Verdot. Merlot adds a plush, velvety texture, while Cabernet Sauvignon offers elegance and power. Petite Sirah lends inky intensity, and Petit Verdot imparts a deep violet color and concentrated fruit. To round out the flavors, the wine is aged in French and American oak. The result is a wine that leaves an indelible impression.

It’s mysterious and dark, soft and sensual – just like Midnight.

Happy Hour in Bloom: The Midnight Garden Cocktail

Fresh. Bold. Daring. The Midnight Garden Cocktail puts a delightfully dark and mysterious spin on happy hour.

In signature Ménage à Trois fashion, we’re shaking things up by giving the go-to mojito a major mouthwatering makeover that will undoubtedly leave you wanting more. Made with our irresistibly smooth Midnight wine, this remixed classic features a roster full of fresh spring ingredients, including lush blackberries muddled with garden-fresh cucumbers. A splash of lime and a sprig of mint give a nod to the traditional cocktail’s taste, while Midnight’s unabashedly bold flavors contribute a refreshingly modern kick.

Served over ice with a splash of fizzy soda, the Midnight Garden Cocktail is the ultimate spring awakening.

Ingredients:
Lime
Simple Syrup
Mint Leaves
Cucumber
Blackberries
Ménage à Trois Midnight
Club Soda

Directions to Make:
Roll limes and cut into 1/8 pieces. We recommend 2-3 pieces.
Pour ½ oz simple syrup into shaker over limes.
Add 8 large mint leaves.
Toss in 2 quarter-inch cucumber slices.
Muddle together until lime and mint aromas are unlocked.
Add 6 pieces or 2 oz blackberries.
Macerate all.
Pour shaker contents in rocks glasses over ice.
Pour 3 oz of Midnight.
Pour 3 oz of club soda (flavored soda optional).
Stir and sip!

A DIY Wine Rack Worthy of Your Ménage à Trois Wine

Searching for the perfect place to store and display your treasured wine collection? Skip the store-bought options and instead craft a one-of-a-kind DIY wine rack that’s the perfect blend of modern and cool. The functional design, which we like to think can double as home decor, features plenty of room for every bottle, and can easily be customized for a handcrafted aesthetic. For example, you can switch up the colors to coordinate with your home’s current design scheme, or shift the placement for a look that’s just your taste.

One great thing about this do-it-yourself storage is it takes only a few items and some old-fashioned elbow grease to complete – not a power tool in sight. But the best part about this stunning yet simple project? You’ll have plenty of time left over to enjoy your Ménage à Trois wine.

What you’ll need:
- Spray Paint
- Shipping Tubes, minimum 3.5” in diameter, 12” in length (PVC pipe is another option. Find out if your local hardware store will pre-cut the pipes before purchasing)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Utility Knife (if using shipping tube)

How to make it:
1. Using your utility knife, cut the shipping tubes into 12”-13” long sections, depending on desired depth of wine rack.
2. Apply two coats of spray paint on all sides of cut tubes, including the inside.
3. Create your desired pattern, and hot glue the horizontal sections together.
4. Once the glue has dried on horizontal rows, stack and glue rows together vertically. Be generous when applying glue, but be careful not to add too much to visible areas, such as the outsides or top of wine rack.
5. Allow to dry completely.

Ménage Music Festival Survival Guide

If you’re as jazzed about music festival season as us, you bought your tickets months ago, and you started planning the moment you left the grounds last year. We’re sure you thought of everything, but just in case, we’ve put together a survival guide to tackle all those little incidentals you might have overlooked.

1. Drink a lot of water. You’re going to be walking for miles, standing for hours, and dancing for days, so you’ve got to prepare your temple of groove for such strenuous conditions. Also, sports drinks are a great source of electrolytes.

2. Before you start sipping your we-set-up-our-own-tent wine, decide on a group checkpoint. It’s a big space and you can misplace your friends in the blink of an eye. If you don’t set a checkpoint, you risk missing your favorite bands in a missing-friend frenzy.

3. Read the list of suggested and prohibited items. There’s always something you forgot or didn’t realize you couldn’t bring to the festival grounds; for instance, most concert venues don’t allow glass on car-camping grounds. Wine drinkers must come prepared with reusable plastic or silicone wine baggies. These retail for $6-$15, depending on size and brand. A few smaller ones can hold plenty of Ménage à Trois Gold and maximize cooler capacity.

4. Taking a propane camping grill and planning a menu is worth it. Cooking at your campsite is cheaper, and there are no long lines. So, save your cash and feast before you fest. Don’t forget the aluminum foil for cooking bacon or veggies in the mornings!

5. Cooler Packing 101: Maximizing Space – Start with a bottom layer of ice and then pack on the meats. Toss on another layer of ice, filling in any gaps, and pack on veggies. Another, thicker layer of ice, and Ménage à Trois Gold. Remember that it helps to have all the servings prepacked. You’ll definitely want to keep some dry foods, such as granola bars, jerky, and fruit, to take into the concert grounds for a quick energy boost.

Here’s a short list of the best car-camping foods, ever:
- Hot dogs, kielbasa, Italian sausage
- Preformed hamburger patties
- Onions and peppers
- Deli meat and sliced cheese
- Pickles (more electrolytes!)
- Avocados, oranges, apples
- Ranch beans or any canned beans

6. Sunscreen. Wear it!

7. Shower trucks are heaven on earth, but be ready to wait in a line for this campground amenity. It’s well worth the wait, but come correct so you’re in, out, and off to rock land. The best way to prep your shower bag is to pack like you’re getting on a plane; limit yourself to travel size everything.

8. Have fun, make memories, take pictures! Running from tent to tent, racing against time to see two bands at once, wiggling through the masses, hand in hand with really great friends or your significant other, filling your hearts with the music that brought you together; that’s the real romance of music festivals. You’re going to have a blast!

We’ll see you there, but in the meantime, show us how you’re prepping on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2jUJ7EQ.

Wine Inspired Maid of Honor Basket

After the big question has been popped, a bunch of other questions need answering. The most important one is probably, “Who’s going to help us plan this thing?” Enter the Maid of Honor, usually the bride’s best friend.

The Maid of Honor is the foundation of planning those little incidentals that would otherwise, most definitely, drive the bride off the deep end. In essence, the MoH floats in and fixes catering mix-ups, does last-minute veil alterations, and, most important, keeps the happy couple just that. So, when you ask this person to commit to being your third, make sure to spare no expense on a commemorative gift basket full of wine.

A few must-haves to pick and choose from:
First, our Prosecco minis were made for this occasion. If you want to go full size, you can pick up her favorite Ménage à Trois, and grab a bottle of one you know she hasn’t tried. Maybe Gold or Midnight?
You’ve got to have a touching, handwritten card, but it can be short. Try a pun or something short and sweet.
Baskets that match your friend’s style and can be used in decorative affairs later are always a good start.
The thickest wedding magazine you can find to get the inspiration board started.
A couple of face masks to keep you both fresh when you’re up late looking at wedding magazines and sipping a little rosé.
Snag a few fancy, flashy-colored nail polishes you know she’d love.
Bubble bath, bath bombs, and essential oils are a lovely way for her to unwind throughout the wedding-planning chaos.
Emergency chocolate! Any kind will pair flawlessly with our Silk.

You can get much more elaborate, but these are the essentials. Oh, and give that lady a big hug!

Suggestions? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.

Paint with Ménage à Trois Wine

If you ever had a penchant for fine arts when you were growing up, you probably played around with one of those paint by numbers books. Since then, we know you’ve learned a myriad of life lessons; with all the wisdom you’ve gathered, you’ve found that it’s more fun to color outside the lines.

We like messy mediums too, and we’ve discovered there’s no better way to release your creative bursts than to slip into a glass of Ménage à Trois Midnight and relax your mind with a paint session. Perhaps the loveliest part now is that you can use your wine as the color spectrum and let your imagination design the lines.

Necessities:
Watercolor Paper
1 Pencil – mechanical or #2, press lightly on the paper
1 bottle of Ménage à Trois Midnight – you’ll need 2 cups for the painting, drink the rest
Brushes – whatever shape or size your heart desires
Palette – to separate your shades (purchase online or at a craft store)
1 rag or paper towels – just in case

Start prepping here:
To ensure you’re getting the richest, darkest color, you’ll need to reduce the wine on the stovetop, medium-low heat, for about 10 minutes. Don’t reduce it too long or it’ll burn!

Sketch out your inspired design in light pencil on your watercolor paper. Then, spread a light base of the non-reduced wine over the areas you want filled in. This is called washing your image. Now, take a step back and sip for a minute while your wash dries.

Once the wash has dried, fill in the dark areas with your reduced wine. You can go over these areas multiple times to get it as dark as you want it, but make sure to let dry between coats.

Outline your piece with the most reduced wine, or bring in a fine point permanent marker for a little pop.

Stand back again, sip, and admire your work. Art is all about the process of digesting it, and we’d love to see yours on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2jUJ7EQ.
