Dive Into Fall With Oysters And Ménage à Trois Gold

We’re diving into our name and the sea with our Oysters and Ménage à Trois Gold pairing. Oysters are the very essence of the sea. With their crisp and saline juice, it’s an experience for your senses like no other. So it’s no surprise French women indulge in a plate of oysters; they’re high in nutritional value and low in calories.

Yet, the indulgence of oysters doesn’t stop at the plate – the shells can be found in old French vineyard traditions. After a glorious nighttime gathering, vineyard farmers would discard the shells throughout the vineyard. We suppose you can say they make a full circle from the sea to the plate to the glass.

Let’s celebrate tradition and dabble in the deliciousness of our oyster recipe and a glass of Ménage à Trois Gold.

What You’ll Need (recipe for 12 oysters):
- Depending on your party size, plan on guests having 3-4 oysters each.
- 12 oysters
- 2 Lemons cut into wedges
- Ice
- 1 French baguette

How to Make:
1. Once the oyster has been opened, discard the top shell.
2. Lay ice down on your serving tray and place the oysters on top.
3. Depending on your preference, squeeze lemons over the oysters.
4. Slice the French baguette and toast to your preference in the oven.
5. Serve and enjoy!

Add Your Own Personal Style to Your Next Soiree with DIY Wine Bottle Centerpieces

Sometimes the simplest decorations are a savvy way to express your inner artist and make the greatest impression. These DIY Wine Bottle Centerpieces will wow your guests with their simplistic rustic beauty. They utilize vibrant flowers, espresso-stained wood, and your used Ménage à Trois bottles to add elegant charm to your table, while remaining versatile enough to be used for many events. Consider adding some fairy lights for a romantic evening twinkle, or other bright colored flowers for a cheery brunch.

Simple Wood Box:
This box project can be changed to fit your needs with some simple adjustments. For our table, we chose to make a box that is 2 ft. long x 4 in. wide x 4 in. high. We will be using these dimensions for our instructions below. If you choose to make yours a different size, please adjust accordingly.
With the right planning, you can save time and money by using one long piece of wood and cutting it down to make your smaller pieces. You may have pieces lying around the house and that is fine as well.

What You Need:
- 1 - 1 in. x 4 in. x 8 ft. piece of wood (we chose Poplar)
- Measuring tape, pencil, straight edge
- Wood glue
- Clamps (the more the merrier)
- Paint or wood stain (we used a gray wood stain)
- Damp cloth to wipe off excess glue

How to make your simple wood box: (We strongly recommend getting all of your wood pre-cut by a professional at the store where you purchase the wood. It is a good idea to share the below info with your pro woodcutter so they know what you'll be using the wood for. Again, you'll need 1 - 1 in. x 4 in. x 8 ft. piece of wood (we chose Poplar).

1. Lay the wood flat and measure your first cut at 2 ft., mark it with the pencil on two points so you can use the ruler and pencil to make a straight line to guide your first cut. With your saw, cut along the line so you will have your first 2 ft. piece of wood. Remember – measure twice, cut once.
2. Mark and cut two more 2 ft. pieces. You will have one 2 ft. piece left which we’ll be cutting up to make the ends of the box.
3. With the leftover 2 ft. section, measure and mark at 3.25 in. intervals, cut and repeat once more so you have two 1 in. x 4 in. x 3.25 in. pieces and then you are done cutting.
4. Lay one of the 2 ft. sections down flat, apply a bead of wood glue along one of the long sides and then align and place one of the other 2 ft. sections up to the other to form an L shape. You will want to be sure it’s on the side of the piece laying down and not sitting on top, think wide L not a short L. Clamp the two boards together, wipe off excess glue and allow the glue to start to set.
5. Once the glue has had time to set a little, repeat step 5 for the other side so you end up with a wide U shape.
6. Allow the glue to set a good amount on both sides because these next steps will apply pressure to the glued areas and may cause the pieces to separate. Take one of the small pieces and lay glue along both sides and one side you choose to be the bottom. Squeeze that piece in to one of the ends, clamp and wipe off excess glue. It may be a tight fit.
7. Repeat for the other side when the glue has settled and allow for all the glue to set completely.
8. Once the glue is dry, paint or stain the wood or leave it natural.
9. Adorn as you like. We chose to paint some corner brackets and screw them onto the corners to add some style, and a little extra stability.

Admire the creativity of your craftsmanship with a glass of favorite Ménage à Trois wine. You’ve earned it.
