Spin The Bottle: Weekend DIY

//

It’s time for spin the bottle, Ménage à Trois-style! Click play on the video above, then press pause at random to find out which of these three fun activities should be in your future.

Chalkboard Paint Wine Bottles - Gather up some empty Ménage à Trois wine bottles, grab a bottle of chalkboard spray paint and some old newspapers. Once you’ve let the paint dry, you can embellish with some rustic twine or ribbon of your choosing. Finally, bring out the chalk to write, decorate, or mark the bottles however you want. They make great centerpieces or table markers for a party or easily personalized gifts for loved ones.

Wine Cork Bulletin Board - If you’ve been saving your corks, this is the perfect project. First, find a picture frame you love. (It’s a bonus if it already has some cardboard backing, but you can easily attach a piece with a few staples or hot glue.) Then, using a hot glue gun, attach your corks in whichever pattern you like. When the glue has cooled, place a few push pins in the the board for notes, pictures, or other keepsakes. Hang it on the wall and you’re good to go!

Wall-Mounted Flower Vase - This project can turn just a few empty Ménage à Trois wine bottles, simple hardware, and a couple of pieces of reclaimed wood into a beautiful addition to your home decor. You’ll need to head to the hardware store to get a ring clamp (the kind usually used for hoses that can be tightened with a screwdriver) for each bottle, picture-frame hanging brackets, and ¾” wood screws. With the wood cut to match the length of each bottle, screw the ring clamp to the board to go around the center of the bottle. Fasten the frame-hanging bracket to the back of the board, then place the bottle in the ring clamp and tighten. Once you find the right spot to hang your new creation, fill it with some fresh flowers (the silk variety will do nicely too).
