Grapes to Glory: Smooth, Sensuous Silk Wine

Discover the captivating backstory behind every bottle with Grapes to Glory, a wine series that pays homage to our wine of the month by providing insight into our delectable varietals, from the picking down to the sipping.

It’s time to get to know a wine so seductively soft, with a texture so lustrous and smooth, it could only be called — what else? — Silk.

We’re all for a bit of smooth talking here at Ménage à Trois, and it doesn’t get any smoother than the exquisitely soft sensation of Silk as it glides over your lips and across your palate. Brimming with alluring aromas, full-bodied, bright-red fruit flavors, and a marvelous mouth feel, you might say that Silk exposes the softer side of Ménage à Trois.

When it comes to crafting this silky varietal, our winemakers weave their magic with grapes from the marine-influenced vineyards in California’s Central Coast, North Coast, and Lodi-Delta appellations. Pinot Noir with seamless cherry flavors, Malbec with velvety softness, and Petite Sirah with alluring depth come together in a blissful blend through unique fermentation methods that result in a delicately textured, ultra-smooth wine with supple tannins. Grapes are cold-soaked and then gently pressed to silky perfection.

Silk beckons, promising an unforgettable experience for the senses, with succulent cherry and ripe raspberry flavors that mingle with delicate hints of rose petals and toasty spice. Gliding gracefully across your palate like liquid silk, the wine’s unique texture and flavors stand out with a hint of sweet, spicy French and American oak. The result? The smoothest, softest, silkiest wine you’ve ever tasted.
